Snowy Tweseldown but still a warm welcome for AGA - Frankie Hickman sluices through the mud and snow at Tweseldown

The drive down was "interesting" shall we say and the text message from Tweseldown had promised further heavier rain during the day ... it didn't say anything about snow! The snow caught us by surprise, however, we were still smiling, as were the lovely people at Tweseldown, hardy folk these pointing people!

very far throughout the rest of the day

The first few flakes were met with gasps of disbelief, then once everyone realised it was going to be around for a while the good old British sense of humour took over. It was cold as well, finger numbingly cold, and Jeremy Grayson from the Racing Post Weekender had his first set of notes turned to absolute mush ... thanks heavens for the photographic memory eh Jeremy?

The snow was getting heavier but the smiles were getting wider, and every bit of available shelter was taken. Even Beazo had to retreat for 5 minutes and he was spotted sheltering outside the weighing room ... see the photos below. I can also report that this is the first meeting of the season where "cake-pops" have been part of the buffet in the hospitality room (and I had to try one).

A word of advice for Emily from Beazo ... I wonder what it is?
Simmo still smiling!
The race cut up quite badly due to the conditions and 4 stood their ground with only 2 finishing, the winner was Mount Sandel who absolutely sluiced through the mud to record his second Tweseldown win of the season. A very cold and shivering Frankie Hickman then made her way to the AGA van for an interview with Beazo and she had to don an AGA Total Control fleece to keep her from freezing.

The post race inquest begins for Emily
Thank you to Tweseldown for your efforts on Sunday, we have met some wonderful officials on our travels and all have made us welcome, and Sunday was no exception. We have also met some thoroughly nice secretaries and seen some incredibly smart outfits, and although there is no such thing as an award for best turned out secretary, if there was then we met another genuine contender on Sunday - step forward Miss Jane Quinton.
