The heat is on as our AGA lady riders head for the kitchen

Fresh from their season long battle on point-to-point courses around the UK, some of our leading AGA lady riders - plus a course secretary, are heading for the kitchen on Friday this week. Their culinary skills will be put to the test in an altogether different kind of battle when they descend on the Divertimenti Cookery School in Marylebone, where TV chef Rachel Green will be putting them through their paces in a fun filled session.
The AGA Champ!
The session has been arranged so that we can bring together the winners of our additional categories, plus our two new champions, for an end of season celebration. A delicious menu has been designed for this hands on session which will be more fun than challenging, but will certainly involve some trickier elements - such as making mayonnaise by hand.

best secretary), with Power Shared following his win at Littlewindsor

Each of the winners is also bringing a partner so that they can work in teams, and having experienced their competitive nature on the track at first hand I am certainly expecting a good battle on Friday. The full list of winners is:

• Race winner - Jacqueline Coward
• AGA Total Control Champion - Claire Hart
• Most fences jumped with points winner - Jane Williams
• Most fences jumped without points winner - Ruth Tutton
• Best course secretary - Simon Hart
• Best novice in AGA races - Frankie Hickman

• Best new trainer - Sarah 'Ripper' Rippon
Frankie Hickman receives her trophy
from Mr AGA Pointing following her
victory on Mount Sandel at Tweseldown
Ruth Tutton and Belevard go down to the start
before the AGA Ladies Open at Whitfield
Ripper receives her AGA Cook Shop vouchers from AGA Project Sales Manager Richard Gillot at Whitfield following her victory on Metal Detector

Jane Williams with Swift Counsel following their AGA Ladies win
at Tabley
There will be no hiding place in the kitchen and as you would expect there will be plenty of photographic evidence! During the class our winners and their partners will mix and shape the fishcakes, make mayonnaise from scratch, roll out the pastry for the pies and top, and decorate them intricately, and make the dessert from scratch.

Menu

Starter –
Asparagus, Haddock & Smoked Bacon Fishcakes with freshly made (by you…) Mayonnaise

Main –
Individual Pastry-Topped Shrewsbury Lamb Pies served with Garlic Boulangere Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables

Dessert –
Black Pepper Cake with Marinated Strawberries (Divine)
Hannah Lewis (1st on the left) will also be joining us on Friday - there may be some truth in the rumour that the shot above will be replicated, with aprons replacing silks!
Watch this space for a full report of the day which will also contain lots of lovely photographs!
