This AGA Total Control Lady Riders' Championship just gets better and better - Claire Hart and Lady Myfanwy triumph in Wales

A trip to South Wales kicked off our weekend of pointing action and we decided to forgo the joys of the M5 and take the scenic route - good choice. Not only was there plenty to look at on the way down, but the two and a half hour journey flew by and we were soon pulling on to the course. The first task after we park up is to find the secretary and take the prizes to the tent, but not this week, oh no, we needed to find the "Welsh Cake" stand!

It was overcast but dry, however, the breeze was stiff enough to force a return to the car after two minutes to retrieve my jacket ... but I kept the gloves firmly in my pocket (although I nearly gave in).

Familiar territory for Annie (and Sally)

The day started with an easy win for Chesnut Annie ... well, come-on, we were in Wales! She has already qualified for the final of our series following her win at Howick in February and we'd love to see Annie at Cheltenham in May ... we all have our fingers crossed that she will be there.

Another fabulous weekend of AGA Ladies action - Lady riders raise the bar yet again as the AGA Total Control Championship reaches boiling point

Well, this AGA Total Control Championship is really getting exciting and Cheltenham is now looming large on the horizon. On Saturday at Sandon we had perfect going and a perfect course, and after plenty of rain during the week the wet stuff stayed away while we enjoyed the action.

The hounds make an early appearance

A large Easter crowd was good news for us and the boys were inundated with enquiries - now we just need some of them to buy a lovely new AGA! An early visitor to our stand was Philip Rowley, who is the trainer of our reigning champion Billyvoddan, and he reported that the reigning champ is bang on target to defend his title in May.

This exciting AGA Total Control title race is too tough to call - Bridget Andrews launches her title challenge at Horseheath

A new contender emerged from the pack as we witnessed another thrilling AGA Ladies Open race at the Puckeridge meeting at Horseheath on Saturday, where Bridget Andrews picked up 10 points to move into joint 4th place in the table.

After the sunshine and tropical temperatures of recent weekends we were greeted by a cool breeze and grey skies when we arrived at Horseheath, although the warm welcome more than made up for that. The local officals all described the course as "the finest in England, never mind East Anglia" and they were keen to ensure that we enjoyed our visit.
